Help With Paying Heating Bills in Indiana. Find Assistance Programs.
Indiana winter warmth assistance program
Eligible state resident who have applied for LIHEAP assistance are eligible for this program. When in the program, LIHEAP participants will automatically receive heating bill reductions in addition to the LIHEAP benefits. For Citizens’ customers, their monthly heating bill reductions will range from 10 percent to 25 percent of the total heating bill, not including any LIHEAP benefits. For qualifying Vectren customers, monthly heating bill reductions will range from 15 to 32 percent of the total bill, also not including EAP benefits. Approximately 20,000 Citizens customers and around 25,000 Vectren customers are expected to receive USP benefits. The USP will also provide heating bill crisis assistance to those customers with incomes up to 200 percent of federal poverty guidelines (FPG).
Under NIPSCO’s Winter Warmth program, participants can also receive up to about $450 annually and the eligibility has been expanded to include those with lower incomes, which is in addition to those customers who have a financial hardship as determined by the administering agency. Since its inception, the Winter Warmth assistance program has provided nearly $15 million in heating bill and deposit assistance to over 35,000 customers.
Winter Assistance Fund
This heating bill assistance fund, which is administered by the United Way, will provide financial assistance to those families who are not eligible for other energy assistance programs.

They will also provide help with paying heating bills for those in dire need. Applications must be filled out.

Assists families and also individuals who are currently experiencing some type of financial hardships.
Northern Indiana Public Service Co. (NIPSCO) - Winter Warmth Program

Northern Indiana Public Service Company ( NIPSCO) - Home Energy Solutions Weatherization Program
Qualifying customers will be able to receive a free home energy assessment. Depending on the results of the energy assessment, you may be able to receive one or more of the following energy efficiency improvements for free : replacing an inefficient water heater or furnace; adding insulation to various parts of your home, caulking, air sealing, and/or installing energy and heat saving devices such as water-saving faucet aerators and shower heads.
Gift of Warmth
An aid fund created to assist NIPSCO customers who do not typically get energy assistance under Indiana's LIHEAP guidelines. The fund will help these customer pay bills.

This is a energy and heating bill assistance program for customers of Citizens Gas, Vectren Corp., and Northern Indiana Public Services Co. It provides grants to low income Indiana families. Learn more.

Energy assistance program that is for lower income customers who may be having trouble paying their heating or electricity bills.
Duke Energy - Helping Hand
Customers who are disabled or at least 60 years old, and who meet certain income guidelines, may be elegible to receive a one-time $60 payment to help pay bills.
