North Dakota Help With Paying Heating Bills and Assistance
North Dakota Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program
The Energy Assistance Program in North Dakota helps over 15,000 eligible families per year. It helps those eligible families and individuals with insulation and heating related costs in the winter. In addition, individual tribal LIHEAP programs will aid tribal members living on reservations in the state.

This is a statewide program that is funded from private donations and utility companies that are located across North Dakota. Assistance is available for utility service charges, reconnection fees, or security lights. Aid is administered by local community action agencies.
Offered by Capital Electric Coop, Dakota Valley Electric Cooperative, Mountrail-Williams Electric Cooperative, Northern Plains Electric Cooperative, and Nodak Electric Cooperative. A limited amount of funds are used to help local residents and non-profit organizations with crucial needs. Examples include heating bill help, food, shelter, clothing, medical bills, emergency services, education, and charitable causes.
