Rhode Island Good Neighbor Energy Fund
This heating bill assistance program is for Rhode Islanders who are in a temporary financial crisis and are not eligible for the Low Income Home Energy Program. Financial crisis is a broad definition and includes the inability to pay for a deliverable fuel and/or gas, heating or utility bill.
Grants paid out are capped at $500, and you can use the grant to pay more than one utility bill. you are eligible for the grant only one time per family per heating season. Each applicant’s situation is reviewed on a case-by-case basis to determine if eligible for heating bill assistance because eligibility for a second year of assistance is not automatic.
RISEO Emergency Fuel Program in Rhode Island
This state assistance program is separate from the LIHEAP program and it offers emergency assistance to households that are experiencing a financial crisis or an energy-related crisis. An application can be submitted if a resident has not received heating bill assistance and their fuel tank is near empty or empty or if they are in immediate danger of losing utility service.
Provides a credit on heating bills to low income families, and they will also provide an energy audit to show you how you can conserve energy.

Cash grants and funds may be available to families who cannot afford the standard 100-gallon minimum delivery amount of fuel oil, families do not qualify under traditional income guidelines for other aid, and to families who have maxed out on other aid programs. More.
